Dear Valued Customer,

Balloon gas changes – 4 May, 2020
In 2019 we commenced the roll-out of improved, higher pressure and more compact balloon gas D2 and E2 sized cylinders in some areas of the country. We are now approaching the next phase of our balloon gas cylinder fleet upgrade, with new changes implemented as below from 4 May, 2020.
New 124D2 introduced in VIC, TAS, NSW and QLD
The new 124D2 cylinder is filled to a higher pressure than the existing 124D cylinder, with an increased volume of gas in a more compact package with a side outlet valve. These will start to be supplied from 4 May, 2020.

124D phased out in VIC, TAS, NSW and QLD
The existing 124D will no longer be produced from 4 May, 2020. You may continue to use existing cylinders and you may still receive supply of D cylinders during the changeover period.

Please find below a summary of the differences of the new cylinders:

What about my pricing?
You will continue to pay the same for price per m3 of gas. You will see an increase in the price per cylinder from 124D reflecting the increased cylinder capacity. Container service fees, charges including handling and delivery fees of the balloon gas cylinders will remain the same*^.

Important safety notice.
Safety is of utmost importance to BOC. You will be required to check that your regulator is compliant with 200 bar inlet pressure.
If you are part of an organisation, please circulate this letter to relevant stakeholders to ensure regulator pressures are checked.
If you use a BOC balloon gas regulator with Part No. BGAGBOC or with Part No. VBOC, these are compliant and suitable.
If you are unsure of your regulator, please refer to our Raise The Bar flyer for help in checking your equipment, and if you still need assistance contact us or your regulator provider.

Yours faithfully,

Nathan Johns
